Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, and Javi Martinez all missed Bayern Munich’s Thursday training session due to physical discomfort and could miss this weekend encounter against Darmstadt.
It has been confirmed that the club will do without the trio in this weekend’s Bundesliga trip to Darmstadt after they missed the training session due to minor injury setback.
Robben, Ribery, and Martinez were all training alone in the performance centre, with the Dutchman and Frenchman working on specific programmes as a result of slight muscle injuries, while the former Athletic Bilbao man was concentrating on recovery training.
The 32-year-old Dutch man, Robben has been sidelined by a series of injuries in the first half of this season, and he has only made just nine Bundesliga appearances in 2016-17. The prolific striker already has five goals, three assists, and twenty-two shots to his name so far in the league this season.
Ribery, on the other hand, has also been coerced to sit out some games in the current campaign as a result of muscular problems after an outstanding start to the season. He currently has two goals, five assists and eleven shots in the Bundesliga.
Martinez, who featured for the full 90 minutes in Bayern’s last three Bundesliga matches after recuperating from a hamstring problem, but still not fully fit to start playing on a top level.
Bayern confirmed the recent injury update via their Twitter handle, @FCBayenEN that the trio missed training but are hopeful they will return to play an active part in the weekend fixture.
The Bavarians will be hoping to end the first half of the season on a high note on Sunday after returning to the top of the Bundesliga table last week following their 5-0 win over Wolfsburg.
